I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy teaching Special Education because I get to meet the needs of my students at their level.

My hopes and dreams are to be a positive role model for all students and I want to push them to excel!

 First day at Kensington: Monday, February 1, 1993. I have been working at Kensington for 22 years and 7 months.

Graduated from Westfield State College May 1992.

 I collect sports memorabilia.  

 I enjoy watching sports.                                                                               .

 I hope each year to have students learn the importance of keeping themselves physically fit.

 So that saying goes....."If you don't take care of your body, where are you going to live?"

 We hope to achieve this by having active learners.

Teaching Experience: 

I started teaching in December 1999 and I've worked in various middle schools in both Holyoke and Springfield. I've been at teaching foreign language to grades Kindergarten through fifth at Kensington International since January 2013.                                            

Interests:

I love singing, traveling, sports, music/dancing, doing community outreach/service, fashion and spending time with family and friends.

Hopes and dreams: 

My hope and dream is for all of my students (from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade) become academically and socially successful. I hope to help my students foster the love in learning languages and comprehend that many doors open, (especially in any career that they may pursue) when you become a person who is fluent in languages other than English.

Academic Information:

Foreign language study is about exploring, developing, and using communication strategies, learning strategies, critical thinking skills, and skills in technology, as well as appropriate elements of the language system and culture. Students will be driven by linking the 5 C’s of foreign language: (Communication, Cultures, Comparisons, Connections, and Communities) aligned with the Massachusetts Foreign Language Curriculum Frameworks, Common Core, Language and Scope Standards, and Practices in the IB PYP Programme. All of this addresses the importance in acquisition of more than one language to enrich the personal development in being a truly internationally minded person.
